Pesta Ubin 2019 workshop

About 60 people passionate about Pulau Ubin from 15 Organising Groups made time to attend the Pesta Ubin 2019 Workshop. This is the third such workshop organised by NParks, and this year's theme is "Supporting Ubin businesses"

Balik Chek Jawa 2018

Specially for Pesta Ubin, volunteers from many groups came together to celebrate Chek Jawa Open House on 10 Jun (Sun)! FREE, no registration required, just come to Chek Jawa!

We reached out to about 800 visitors! This activity is by the Chek Jawa community, led by the Naked Hermit Crabs with friends of Chek Jawa like TeamSeagrass, Restore Ubin Mangroves (R.U.M) Initiative and Lepak in SG, with support from the Raffles Ecological Literacy Programme.

Pesta Ubin begins!

I had a great time as Pesta Ubin begins with a blast on Sunday!

The highlight was the Pesta Ubin WalkRunBike, with hundreds of participants. There was also a special walk by Strix Wildlife Consultancy, Kampung Games, a photobooth and more! Thanks to the many many volunteers from the Ubin community and beyond for organising these awesome activities!

About 90 people passionate about Pulau Ubin from 20 Organising Groups made time to attend the Pesta Ubin 2018 Workshop.

Pesta Ubin 2017 report

900 volunteers from 45 Organising Groups offered 100 activities catering for an estimated 8,000 participants over 10 weeks!

16 Jul (Sun) is Ubin Day, the grand finale of ten weeks of Pesta Ubin (Ubin Open House): exciting booths, kampung games, free mangrove walks and more. But the fun begins on 15 Jul (Sat), ending with a kampung celebration at Living Fisher Village on 15 Jul (Sat): art, free kayaking, kampung makan.

Always wanted to guide at Chek Jawa but didn't know where to start? Want to guide with your whole family? The Naked Hermit Crabs are offering a special familiarisation tour for newbies and those who want to guide as a family. After which you will be ready to help at the Chek Jawa Open House!

Pesta Ubin starts 10 May (Wed)! Pesta Ubin is truly a community effort. And relies on volunteers to make it happen.

Pesta Ubin featured in Challenge magazine

"Coming together for Pulau Ubin" is a great feature article about Pesta Ubin written by Tay Qiao Wei for Challenge, a magazine of the Singapore Public Service, distributed to 120,000 public officers.

The feature article highlights some less obvious aspects of Pesta Ubin such as building trust, how it provided opportunities for bonding over commmon interest, and for community and agencies to work hand in hand.

Internship special: Youth Corps X Pesta Ubin (Mar-Jul 2017)

You CAN make a difference for Pulau Ubin! Here is a unique opportunity to intern for Pesta Ubin AND Youth Corps, thanks to support by the National Youth Council!

Pesta Ubin is a kampung-style Open House at Singapore's last rustic island, Pulau Ubin. Pesta Ubin is the highlight of each year of 'Celebrating Ubin', which is made possible by the Friends of Ubin Network (FUN).

Ubin Day 2015 Report

A total of about 2,000 people volunteered and participated in Ubin Day 2015! Thanks to MOS Desmond Lee, the volunteers of the 34 Organising Groups, the FUN Ambassadors and the awesome team at NParks for making Ubin Day 2015 happen.
