6 Dec (Sun): Raffles Museum Open House

A hidden gem, the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research of the National University of Singapore houses more than 500,000 animals and plant specimens that you can get up close with.
Be amazed by urban Singapore’s rich biodiversity and grab this rare experience getting up close to many animal specimens. Learn about different species of animals that inhabited Singapore and the region through games and colouring activities. Children will learn about the different habitats, biodiversity, conservation and environmental awareness.

This Open House is part of the "I love museums" programme. More about RMBR.

  1. over the weekend, i was at the old supreme court to check out some exhibitions they had on display since it recently opened. seemed like a bit of a sad waste of space in that the showcases were so miserable. good -- in that indie shows are supported and have a home, but the space could really go to better use -- like a natural history museum in the civic district.

a gallery like the RMBR public gallery so rich in content, and staff so passionate about their work, would really reach out to the public in a more accessible area like city hall. (who really wants to go all the way to NUS to see the museum if they are only somewhat interested?)
