The dive team came back with big fishes! While the intertidal team had a muddy day at Pasir Ris Park. Also some glimpses into the angling team's catch on 5 Aug.
Kelvin Yong and the team laid the net four times at Pasir Ris! The net was full of seaweed is one of the net pulls.
Which had to be removed to clear the net for the next pull. After removing every fish. This took some time.
Among the finds at Pasir Ris, the cutest little pufferfish!
The last pull was in soft mud, and the team got really muddy. As well as the net. So the net had to be washed before it was put away.
Here's a clip of the four times the net was laid, after which it was washed in the stream, and hauled all the way back. Back breaking work!
The precious net is carefully washed back at the museum.
Then it's back to the lab for MORE work, cleaning the fish, identifying them, recording their data meticulously.
Extracting their DNA.
Pinning out the fins of even the tiniest fish.

Just as the lab cleared the finds of the intertidal team, the dive team arrived with amazing fishes. Including some really large ones!

Meanwhile, the anglers are hard at work. Here's photos shared by the Marine Stewards Singapore of their catch on 5 Aug.
It is hard work building the Singapore fish library. And it would not have been possible without the support of so many experts and volunteers!
