We encounter an astounding variety of fishes!
Lush seagrasses have settled at the mouth of this artificial canal, marked by a line of blue drums.
There are lots of Tape seagrasses here with long leaf blades!
As Kelvin pulls out the 30m net, he holds up a Tape seagrass blade to show how long it is! Wow. We seem to be getting better at using the net and got a lot of fishes as well as many shrimps. We collected the fishes and returned all the other animals into the sea.
Our second time laying the 30m net, under planes flying from one of the world's busiest airports.
There's lots of washing up to do after the trip. And many other errands such as buying lunch for everyone.
When we stopped by the lab after washing up, they were already processing what we sampled this morning. Wow, we did find an amazing variety of fishes in just the two short netting efforts at this artificial shore!
Bee Yan took this great photo of our finds.
The fishes look amazing after careful washing and labelling.
