Special snails and sand diver on Cyrene

A cool evening on Cyrene: a touch of rain results in a rainbow!
I was out with TeamSeagrass for the last monitoring of 2010 and as usual, had lots of interesting sightings.

Volunteers Day with TeamSeagrass

But I was glad to spend the day with a very special group of volunteers, TeamSeagrass!

Blooming seagrasses on oil-slicked Tanah Merah shore

I'm back to check up on the oil-slicked Tanah Merah shore on a not-so-low tide today.
Wow, the patch of Tape seagrass (Enhalus acoroides) is blooming! It's full of pretty female flowers on long stalks. It looks positively bridal. From the state of the flower petals, they seem to have just bloomed today! Too bad for the sheen of oil on the water surrounding it.

Gobies of Singapore - a fabulous poster!

I was thrilled to see the beautiful poster done by Dr Zeehan Jaafar for the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research Open House.
The poster introduces these delightful fishes in a fun and easy way, especially suitable for the many kids that visited during the Open House.

Kids meet dugong, turtle and more at the Museum Open House!

Today I had a quick look at the Open House at the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research during lunch time.
It was wonderful to see so many kids enthralled by the exhibits about our marine life and beyond.

Muddy moray and other marvels with the Mega Marine Survey!

An exciting day at Sungei Buloh with the Mega Marine Survey team!
With lots of wildlife all around us. Including a Malayan water monitor, determined to eat his lunch and undisturbed by the team hard at work nearby!
