The durian trees on Pulau Ubin are flowering! Mama Crab Ley Kun is excited because in 100 days we will be able to taste the best durians in Singapore!
What a glorious day I had with families during the free monthly Naked Hermit Crab walk at Chek Jawa!
Since everyone was already gathered under the tree, we had our traditional group photo there!
I love it when we have lots and lots of kids on a trip.
They are great at spotting stuff!
Lots of crabs if you can distinguish them from the mud!
The incoming tide brought out lots of little mudskippers too!
Oo scary fire ants!
We also saw several Malayan water monitor lizards
The boardwalk is great for taking a closer look at mangrove trees.
It was a glorious blue sky day. HOT!
Which makes us appreciate the shade of the trees more!
We ended just before it started to rain.
Check out Liz Lim's awesome photos too!

But you can also visit the boardwalk on your own. The 1.1km boardwalk is open 8.30am to 6pm. Free entry. No need a guide to visit. More about how to get there in Chek Jawa: an easy 'overseas' adventure for families.
Come join the Chek Jawa Open House on 10 Jun (Sun): Balik Chek Jawa. FREE, no registration required, just come to Chek Jawa! Volunteer guides will be stationed all over the boardwalk to share about Chek Jawa's amazing wildlife. This Chek Jawa Open House is supported by the community who love Chek Jawa and offered once a year as part of Pesta Ubin.
