Pasir Ris mangroves featured in the Weekender

A night trip to Pasir Ris with surprise snakey creature is featured in the latest issue of Weekender!
In the segment entitled "Discovery" my earlier blog post was reproduced in the magazine that aims to be "your inspiration to a weekend filled with fun and happiness".

Pei Yan and Kwan Siong saw even more exciting wildlife on their recent night trip to Pasir Ris. They spotted FIVE of the strange snakey creatures, which are fishes and not snakes! These are Snake eels (Family Ophichthidae), which are not true eels.

I'm glad the Pasir Ris Park's mangrove boardwalk was highlighted because it is so conveniently located near Pasir Ris MRT station and other urban amenities. Unlike other large mangrove boardwalks at Sungei Buloh and Chek Jawa, the Pasir Ris boardwalk is open 24/7! Anyone can make a night trip and see exciting wildlife! You can download NParks' DIY trail guide to the Park. The Naked Hermit Crabs sometimes holds free guided walks for families at this mangrove boardwalk. Check out nature happenings at Pasir Ris and all around Singapore on the wildsingapore happenings blog.
