Extensive works on Pulau Ubin's northen coast to Jan 2013

Along almost all of Pulau Ubin's northern coast for the rest of this year, there will be topping up of sand and stone by excavators from land with materials conveyed by work barges from the sea.
The northern shore of Pulau Ubin is ringed by a tall fence.
This may be something to do with the security fence along this coastline, put up to deal with illegal immigrants.
