It was a family of dolphins including a baby dolphin! Jason has kindly agreed to let me share his story and the lovely map he created.

Hi Ria,

A pod of wild dolphins were spotted off the coast of Siloso Beach on 21 June 2019 @ 1400hrs.

We were kayaking near the wave breakers at the Megazip landing islet when we spotted the surfacing pod of wild dolphins. We started to paddle and follow the pod till we reached the coast off Rasa Sentosa Resort. The pod started to swim in circles near where the 2 big trees are at the Resort. We stopped paddling and was in the centre of the circling pod when one of the dolphins leaped out of the water in front of us. Then a baby dolphin, about 150cm, surfaced and came by our kayak to check us out. It was amazing!

Shortly after, the pod started slowly swimming and surfacing till they swam towards the Keppel Bay waterway.

This sighting was unbelievable and truly magical.

Best Regards,
Jason Tan

Thanks to Tammy Lim for sharing a video of dolphins in the same area on the same day. The video was taken by Yazid.
