Kusu Pilgrimage Season: 13 Oct - 11 Nov 2015

Expect a parking crunch and boarding delays at Marina South Pier for other Southern Island destinations during this traditional season. And the regular ferry to St. John's Island will be suspended during this period.
Traditionally happening on the ninth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, 100,000 devotees and visitors are expected to visit tiny Kusu Island for the annual pilgrimage season.

It is said that 80% of the pilgrims are women. Many come to pray for good husbands, healthy babies and obedient children. Besides the temple, Kusu Island is also the resting place of three Malay kramats. More about Kusu Island on the wildsingapore website.
From the website of the ferry provider, Singapore Island Cruise:

This year’s Kusu Pilgrimage period is from 13 Oct 2015 to 11 Nov 2015. Marina South Pier

Controlled Entry into MSP Carpark (On Weekends and Public Holiday)

There will be controlled entry into MSP Carpark from 0600hrs to 1700hrs on weekends and
public holiday during the Kusu Pilgrimage period. Only authorised vehicles, with valid parking labels, will be allowed to enter and park at this carpark.

Motorists are advised to park their vehicles at Marina Bay Cruise Centre (MBCC) Carpark
(please refer to the map in Appendix 1) and use the free shuttle-bus services plying between MBCC
and MSP. Alternatively, they could use the covered linkway from MBCC to MSP.

A free shuttle-bus service will run between the MBCC Carpark and Marina South Pier from
0600hrs to 2000hrs on weekends and public holiday during the Kusu Pilgrimage period. The interval
between shuttle services is approximately 15 minutes.
